The Centre for Policy on Ageing is a company limited by guarantee (each member having a liability of £1) and a registered charity.

GOVERNING INSTRUMENT
The Charity is governed by Memorandum and Articles of Association dated 1st August 1947, as amended by Special Resolutions dated 24th April 1979 and 8th May 1997. Trustees serve for three years after which period they may put themselves forward for election for a further three years.
The board meets quarterly.

Des Kelly OBE Chairman
Des Kelly is Executive Director of the National Care Forum, established to promote quality care outcomes for people receiving care and support through not-for-profit providers. He has a background in the residential care sector at different levels of management and has written extensively for the professional press.
Des is Chair of the Centre for Policy on Ageing, Interim Chair of Eden Alternative CIC and also Director of the Residential Forum and Skills for Care. He chairs the Steering Group of the 'My Home Life' programme and was instrumental in the formation of the Care Providers Alliance and the first chair. Des was awarded an OBE for services to social care in 2007.

Mark Ivory
Mark Ivory joined the CPA Board of Trustees in 2014. He is a freelance editor and journalist specialising in health, housing and social care. Mark held several senior editorial positions at Community Care and now edits the Journal of Dementia Care among other things.
Jill Manthorpe
Jill Manthorpe joined the CPA Board of Trustees in XXX. She has much experience of the voluntary sector and the role of Trustees or Committee membership. This includes local involvement in Age UK groups (formerly Age Concern) and national activity as a Trustee of Action of Elder Abuse. Jill is Director of the Social Care Workforce Research Unit at King's College London, where she runs a research unit focusing on the social care workforce. She is a social gerontologist by academic discipline and is a Fellow of the Academy for Social Sciences and a Senior Researcher Emerita of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
Terry Philpot
Terry Philpot is a writer and journalist who has contributed to a wide range of publications, including The Tablet, The Independent and The Guardian.
He has written or edited 19 books on subjects ranging from adoption to sex offending; learning disability to the voluntary sector. His last two books are 31 London Cemeteries to Visit Before You Die (2013); and Beside the Seaside: Brighton's Places and Its People (2015). He is also author of 18 entries in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.
He is a trustee of three charities and has won several awards for journalism
