AnnotationThe purpose of the review is to assess the extent to which people in Powys County Council are well served by social services. The review considered: how services are arranged for individual people; how the care needs of the population are planned for; how the Authority manages performance and quality; and how well the available resources are being used. The Authority is compared with a group of eight similar Welsh local authorities. The Joint Review team concludes that overall, the people of Powys are adequately served by their social services, but that the safety and sustainability of current services is fragile. An agenda for development is suggested to deal with the challenges of capacity, culture, communication, and changing how resources are used. The responses of users and carers in Powys are compared with those of users and carers in the 63 other authorities where surveys have been completed. The report's text is in English and Welsh. (RH).
