AnnotationThe Local Government Centre, Warwick University was commissioned by the Department of Social Security (DSS) on behalf of the Inter-Ministerial Group on Older People to conduct a literature review as part of a qualitative research project. Findings from this research will inform the Inter-Ministerial Group's work on older people's attitudes and aspirations, lifestyles, and relations with government at various levels. The review focuses on literature from 1988 to 1998 on the themes of active ageing, health and social care, and consultation and involvement. Searching for relevant items was carried out by computer and personal search of published and unpublished material as a basis for review; most items are held in the Centre for Policy on Ageing (CPA) Library. This summary presents the main findings from the literature review. (RH)(KJ).
