AnnotationThe purpose of the review is to assess the extent to which people in Haringey are well served by social services. The review considered: how services are arranged for individual people; how the care needs of the population are planned for; how the Authority manages performance and quality; and how well the available resources are being used. The evidence from this review is that residents and users in Haringey are generally well served by their social services. The issues facing the authority are those of greater consistency in the provision of services and tightly managing a multiplicity of simultaneous change. Priorities for action are identified as: managing a significant change programme; continuing to promote a management culture; developing the capacity for devolution; and dealing with service deficiencies and developments.
