AnnotationNurse specialisation by education and training may be an important feature of successful hospital training. A physiotherapy-led stroke training programme for nurses can be established without additional resources. Within the limits of the research design used, such a training programme influenced clinical practice, but there were no significant differences in patient outcomes. Indeed, there was a significant improvement in the number of observed "good" transfers of patients undertaken by nurses. (RH).
