AnnotationThis brief booklet focuses on the sink, basin or bath tap, something which most of us take for granted; but for people with dementia, a tap can be a source of frustration. The function, location, design and aesthetics of taps is outlined, with examples of good and bad tap design and recommendations when choosing taps. The text is intended for planners of accommodation for people with dementia, such as architects, managers, property developers and purchasers of services. Students of architecture, nursing and occupational therapy may also find it opens up new perspectives, and challenges their thinking to see things from the point of view of someone with dementia.
