AnnotationFollowing media reports about the poor care of some older people in hospital, Help the Aged's response has been to set up the "Dignity on the Ward" campaign to improve their quality of life. Their main aims are to: ensure that the Government acts to improve the care of older people in hospital; to see that managers run their hospitals to the kind of standards older people expect; to promote good practice in the care of older people on the ward by NHS staff; and to enable older people to improve their situation if they experience problems in hospital. This update provides information about campaign activities. (AKM).
