AnnotationTurner's Syndrome (TS), a female chromosomal aberration, occurs in approximately 1 in 2,500 female births. Short stature is the most common physical feature of women with TS, and some organ systems are affected by the genetic condition, but the degree of abnormality varies widely. There have been few studies of women with this condition as they age. The author provides a psycho-social history of one of Dr Henry Turner's original patients, seen in 1937 when he identified TS. This article describes the educational and vocational achievements and emotional and psychological health of this oldest known woman with TS. It chronicles the positive and negative impact of receiving little information about the syndrome, and provides recommendations for intervention by professionals who work with this population. (RH).
