Annotation | Many professionals currently working in social service and health care settings with older people lack an adequate educational background in the field of ageing. One effective strategy for devising gerontology courses involves establishing partnerships between higher education institutions and social service and health care organisations. This article describes the Train-the-Trainer Partnership in Gerontology Education at the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas. Its course provided professional nurses with the opportunity to learn about ageing and the ageing population, and to learn how to train their peers in the workplace. (RH). |
