Annotation | The purpose of this study was to explore primary school children's ideas about ageing before and after an integrated unit of instruction. 20 schoolchildren participated in a 6-week interdisciplinary course on ageing, featuring intergenerational activities and relatively non-ageist children's literature. The children were pre-tested and post-tested using an informal, whole-class word association task, projective drawings, and attitude-toward-ageing interview. By the end of the course, they were more likely to have accurate conceptions of and positive attitudes toward ageing. (RH). |
