Annotation | Hypertension is widely considered as one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease, and is strongly associated with death from stroke, congestive heart failure and coronary heart disease. Evidence is outlined that drug treatment of hypertension in older people saves lives and prevents unnecessary morbidity.
