Annotation | The Gerontological Nursing Programme of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the Alzheimer's Disease Society (ADS) have been involved in a project, the aim of which has been to develop person-centred standards of care of people with dementia living in care homes. The authors describe the aims of the project, its methodology, and the general themes identified. The project's main outcome has been the development of a standards manual, arranged around seven care categories: moving into a care home; living in a care home; team work; relationships; social activities and opportunities; personal care needs; and the environment.
