AnnotationThis brochure publicises the Global Embrace, which will mark simultaneously the launching of the Global Movement for Active Ageing and the 1999 International Year of Older Persons. This involves a series of walk events embracing the globe: ageing will be celebrated in cities around the world, through these walk events. The Global Embrace was conceived to inspire, inform, promote health and provide enjoyment and good company amongst older people. A Global Embrace database will register all related walk events and information kits will be distributed to all interested parties. Separate guidelines for organising walk events and celebrations on 2nd October are also published. (KJ).
