Annotation | This annual publication replaces and incorporates all the information in Population and Health Monitors PP1, PP2 and PP3. Although the primary focus of this data refers to England and Wales, the age and sex distribution of the population of the United Kingdom and Great Britain is included as a convenience for readers. The main finding of the 1999 edition is that the population has increased since 1991 with the biggest increases being observed in four age groups: a) those aged 85 over; b) children aged 10-15; c) those aged 45-64/59; d) those aged 30-44. Decreases in certain age groups have also occurred; these are 0-4, 16-29 and 65/60-74. Explanations of these changes are given in the commentary. This data is available on disk or CD-ROM format. Data available only from website for 2000 onwards. (KJ). |
