AnnotationThe effects of rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS) as a potential therapeutic measure in neurological rehabilitation was investigated in this research review. First, the authors explored the immediate effect of rhythm on gait ability in stroke patients. They also carried out an initial study with Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. They conclude that auditory rhythm seems to be a very accessible sensory stimulus to help improve mobility in older patients with movement disorders. (RH).
