Annotation | Although telemedicine is not a new concept, health care assessment and treatment approaches which incorporate technology have expanded greatly in the last decade. Telemedicine has been used successfully with all age groups across the lifespan. It can serve a useful function in home health care to support older people in their own homes. This article summarises the types and outcomes of community-based telemedicine programmes for older people. It also discusses practice and policy challenges in telemedicine. (RH). |
