Annotation | Murphy's commentary on the paper by Stalker et al relates to his involvement in three evaluation studies eliciting user perspectives. From a practitioner point of view, their paper is significant for undermining the assumption, previously widely held, that eliciting the perspective of service users who have dementia on what works for them is not possible. Murphy's experience is that those with dementia are more in a position to comment on the process rather than the outcomes of services they receive - that is, there is little difference between them and other service users.
