Crisis intervention team proves its worth | Author(s) | Jan Crozier |
Journal title | Working with Older People, vol 3, no 1, January 1999 |
Pages | pp 14-16 |
Keywords | Crisis intervention ; Primary health care teams ; Health care planning teams ; Admission [hospitals] ; Coordination ; Interaction [welfare services]. |
Annotation | The former team co-ordinator of Essex and Herts Community Trust's Crisis Intervention Team describes how the team was set up and the benefits it has brought to patients and staff. However, implementation of the service has caused some conflict between members of the primary health care team: practitioners in all sectors need to learn to work across boundaries, and share their skills, in order to improve health and social care delivery.
