Annotation | In return for the extra funding provided by the Government, health and social care agencies are expected to innovate, achieve targets, and maintain financial control. The author has recently completed a secondment to the NHS Executive's North Thames Regional Office, where he was responsible for performance management within the North Central Sector. He also co-ordinated the 1997/98 allocation of winter pressures funding. In this article, he explains national policy, and sets out priorities for winter 1999/2000. (RH). |
