AnnotationThe promotion of health protection is a major policy objective within the European Union (EU). Such protection should be incorporated in the definition and implementation of all EU policies and activities, including those concerned with employment. This publication focuses on the impact of employment status on workers' health. It presents and analyses data on the 15 EU Member States, collected from the Foundation's Second European Survey on Working Conditions, Eurostat, and the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development). It also offers recommendations on how to carry out further research into the relationship between health and different types of employment. (RH).
