| Annotation | The consultation document, "A new approach to social services performance" set out the Department of Health (DoH) proposals for a performance assessment framework (PAF) incorporating key performance indicators (PIs) for social care. This circular reports briefly on responses to the consultation. It sets out the PIs for the 1999 PAF, revised in the light of the consultation responses. It also responds to some of the comments on the implementation of the PAF and wider performance assessment system. If further detail is required, the reader is directed to the companion report - "The personal social services performance assessment framework: details for the indicators for 1999; feedback from the consultation on the framework" - distributed with this circular.
