Annotation | Quality of life (QoL) has been identified as an important outcome in a diverse range of diseases. There is also great diversity in how QoL is defined and measured, who is asked about QoL, and why QoL is evaluated. This volume provides an overview of conceptual and practical issues in the measurement of QoL in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Two papers explore use of self-report measures for those with mild to moderate cognitive impairment, three rely on proxy assessment, and two on behavioural observation of indicators. A final paper sets QoL investigation and dementia in a philosophical context. (RH). |
