| Annotation | These standards for health and social care services for older people underpin the work of the Health Advisory Service (HAS 2000) in carrying out its remit of evaluating, inspecting and advising services. In this first edition, the standards are presented in the form of a simple list, and are organised into four "levels": service delivery; organisation of care; inter-agency organisational issues; and planning, integration and commissioning. The document also includes a brief description of how these standards were developed. The report of the Royal Commission on Long Term Care was published as this document was being finalised, and its recommendations are therefore not reflected in the standards. (RH). |
