AnnotationThe Health Survey series is part of an overall programme of surveys commissioned by the Department of Health (DoH) to gain regular information on various aspects of the nation's health. This survey focused on the state of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in England, and compared the results with the 1994 Health Survey on CVD. Interviews were held with 19,654 persons (adults and children), of which the majority also underwent physical examinations. The findings are presented in Volume 1. This volume contains a full account of the survey design. Fieldwork documents, measurement protocols and coding frame for medicines are included in the appendices. (AKM).
