Annotation | Dental service requirements were assessed and unmet treatment needs were identified in this report of a pilot screening of residential and nursing homes in New Romney, Kent. Gum disease, tooth loss, and poor oral hygiene were the main problems affecting residents of nursing and residential homes. There was generally a poor understanding of the importance of good oral hygiene and health among carers, as well as among the residents themselves. (RH). |
