AnnotationThe purpose of the review is to assess the extent to which Rotherham people are well served by social services. It gives a profile of the authority; considers evidence about how well the authority meets individuals' needs; and considers evidence regarding planning services, and managing performance and resources. Using results from a survey of users and carers, the report highlights the authority's performance in comparison to others. The review concludes that Rotherham is well served, with 81% of users rating social services as excellent or good. A number of key strengths are identified, including responsiveness, and creating strong partnerships with other services. The authority has set out its own agenda for change. The review considers focus on key issues including: ensuring that the corporate focus takes full account of the social care agenda; ensuring that front-line staff are fully involved; and consolidating the culture of business management.
