AnnotationA grant from the European Union (EU) enabled six partners of the European Network of Older Volunteers (ENOV) to gather information and to identify ways in which use of new technology are being utilised with older volunteers to combat social isolation and promote inclusivity about the older population. Projects were identified which could be replicated in other countries, including: familiarisation with new technology; and telephone links and help lines. Recommendations for action by the EU, national, regional and local governments, and NGOs (non-government organisations) are outlined. Membership of the research team came from Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and the UK. The findings also appear translated into French and German. (RH).
