AnnotationThis series of pamphlets, following on from the series "Home in on quality", is produced with help from the Department of Health (DoH) and is written particularly with care assistants in mind. Each self-contained booklet looks at an issue as it affects residents in residential care and nursing homes, and discusses how staff in these homes can improve their working practice with input and support from their managers and other staff. The pack can be used for induction programmes, ongoing on-the-job training, or as an aid to study on college courses, as well as being of use in staff discussions or in reconsidering a home's policies. The eight "Moving to quality" pamphlets discuss the following: new residents; health care; Parkinson's disease; continence; sight loss; fostering residents' self-determination; working in a multi-cultural environment; and personal and spiritual values.
