Annotation | Older people are more likely to require hospital care than other groups. They take longer to recover after illness or injury, are more vulnerable to infection, and are more likely to have post-operative complications. However, increasing numbers of older people are being forced to pay for postoperative care when they are discharged early after surgery. The article cites an example of this. (RH). |
