| Annotation | A questionnaire on hospital nutrition was published in the 12 August 1998 issue of Nursing Times. The survey highlights some of the problems faced by nurses in meeting the nutritional needs of patients. The results suggest that monitoring of food intake and body weight is performed in a limited number of patients. Only 3% of nurses in acute wards and 18% of elder care nurses had access to Bond's "Eating matters" (Centre for Health Service Research, 1997), a resource providing examples of effective monitoring and nutritional care programmes.
