AnnotationThe Novartis Foundation is the successor to the Ciba Foundation, which was established in 1947. The change of name in 1997 was a consequence of the merger of two companies, Ciba and Sandoz. The Novartis Foundation continues the aims of the Ciba Foundation, as a forum where scientists from across the world can meet and exchange information and ideas. This handbook introduces the current Foundation and its services and then lists all symposium and other publications; public lectures; discussion meetings and other events, such as press conferences that have taken place.
