Annotation | The basic premise of this book is that every health professional ought to be a health educator. The book is also guided by a broad conceptual model, which begins with the importance of collaboration and communication between health professionals and their clients. It is written specifically, though not exclusively for an American audience, and explores the areas of health assessment, health education, social support, behaviour and psychological management, community health and advocacy. The book aims not only to concern research, theory and current issues, but is also practical in its intent. There are checklists, health contracts, assessment tools, resource lists, model programmes, Internet addresses, and discussion questions at the end of each chapter. (RH). |
