AnnotationThe introduction of a universal basic income, to which all citizens are entitled, irrespective of family situation, income, and without past, present, or future work requirement is one proposal advanced in the ongoing debate on welfare state reform. This paper examines the arguments for and against a basic income scheme, and suggests that it is possible to integrate basic income in a reciprocity-sensitive framework. (AKM).
