AnnotationThe author investigates the impact of post-retirement employee benefits on the likelihood that American workers expect to retire before age 62 and age 65. Data from the 1992 Health and Retirement Study was used to estimate the effectiveness of pension plans and health insurance on the expectation of early retirement. Results indicate that both benefits have a significant influence on workers' retirement age expectations. (RH).
