AnnotationIncontinence is common in nursing homes and has a devastating effect on patients. Best nursing practice and (where necessary) drug treatment, together with input from the general practitioner (GP) and continence adviser will be successful in managing and often curing incontinence in even the most frail and handicapped older resident. However, management must always be individual and selective to avoid treatment failure and consequent demotivation of staff. (RH).
