AnnotationThe attitudes towards older people of undergraduates in business, psychology, occupational therapy and nursing are explored, to determine whether differences in attitudes existed between the four groups. Attitudinal differences were also compared for students aged 18 to 22, and students aged 23 and over. The students' concerns over ageing and their perception of themselves at age 75 were also explored. The 18-22 age group were significantly more concerned about personal ageing than the over 23s, although both groups tended to perceive themselves as possessing many positive characteristics at age 75. Significant differences were found across subjects, but not across age, as regards positive and negative characteristics attributed to themselves in later life. (RH).
