Annotation | The Geriatric Health Institute in South Dakota received a training grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to examine establishment of a curriculum for allied health students and professionals, and a clinical site for interdisciplinary training in geriatric assessment and rehabilitation of older people. Another aim was to increase the number of allied health professionals who are trained in interdisciplinary process for the assessment and rehabilitation of older people, and who work in medically under-served rural areas. This article reports on the development and implementation of the grant and the extent to which aims were accomplished. (RH). |
