Annotation | Participants from the Groningen Longitudinal Ageing Study (GLAS) were divided into four groups with regard to their self-rated health. Statistically controlling for the effects of depression, age, and education, participants with poor self-reported health had lower scores on the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) than those who believed themselves to be in good health. Results show that cognitive performance in older people is influenced by health factors. (RH). |
