AnnotationThe purpose of the review is to provide an objective assessment of how well Enfield people are being served by their social services. The review gives a profile of the authority; considers evidence about how well the authority responds to users' needs; and assesses evidence regarding the shaping of services, performance management, resource management, and opportunities and constraints. Using results from a survey of users and carers, the report highlights the authority's performance in comparison to others. The review concludes that many people who receive social services in Enfield are well served by sound professional advice, but have to wait too long to access services, or may not receive the most appropriate services. Four areas are identified in which the authority needs to make progress: consolidating and developing group infrastructure; agreeing and communicating clear priorities and standards about what it will do; promoting greater engagement with the community; and ensuring that it provides and purchases services that offer value for money.
