Annotation | Combined with informal support from family and neighbours, home care has emerged as a major strength in health care delivery to rural older Americans and their families. Nurses are central to delivering home health care, and are essential providers of long-term care services. Longitudinal ethnographic research on rural health care in Colorado has included a focus on home care and long-term care services. This article outlines findings concerning circles of care (informal and community support), changes in home health care nursing, and spiritual aspects of care. (RH). |
