AnnotationThis article describes the processes involved in creating a new and innovative course in Geratology (Applied Gerontology) at the Oxford Brookes University. The aim of the course, set up in 1992, was to create a multi-professional, multi-level Diploma in Higher Education/Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Gerontology, entry and exit practice-based course, that could be offered simultaneously at different levels. The course has been evaluated positively by students and their employers, although there are problems such as release from work and funding. (AKM).
