Annotation | As the demand for voluntary services for older people is expected to increase, service providers will have to identify new sources of supply, including targeting older people themselves. However, the implications for older people who volunteer and for their managers need to be thought through. A strategy for the development of volunteering opportunities must be developed, and should include realistic objectives for policy makers which are sympathetic to the expectations and requirements of older volunteers.
