AnnotationThe Nottingham Longitudinal Study of Activity and Ageing (NLSAA) was established in 1983 to examine relationships between physical activity and well-being in older age. The six papers presented in this supplement describe different aspects of the NLSAA, including the following: background and methodological approach to the NLSAA; longitudinal changes in selected physical capabilities: muscle strength, flexibility and body size; stability and change in levels of habitual physical activity in later life; gender and longitudinal changes in physical activities in later life; customary physical activity and physical health outcomes in later life; and customary physical activity and psychological well-being.
