AnnotationWithin the past decade, an image of older adults ageing healthily has emerged. One of the keys to staying vital and healthy in older age is exercise. Exercise can increase muscle strength, endurance and flexibility, while decreasing body fat. However, physical health is but one dimension of total health. Using four groups participating in regular physical activity, this study investigated how exercise affected all six dimensions of health (emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental dimensions) and contributed to the total quality of life of the participants.
