AnnotationAlthough literature on disability has tended to focus on younger age groups, the assumption is that disability in older people must be part of the natural process of ageing. Moreover, if the chronic condition or disability does not affect daily living, then it can be ignored. This literature review considers definitions, how individuals adjust, and availability of social support or institutional care. (RH).
