Annotation | The growing popularity of therapeutic Adult Day Care (ADC) services for older adults has created a need for effective activity programming for older people experiencing cognitive decline. This US study evaluated a staff implemented group activity that was highly structured and supplemented with external cognitive supports - Question Asking Reading (QAR). Four staff members and 17 clients of two ADC centres participated in the study. Results indicate a significant increase in the frequency and quality of social interaction. (AKM). |
