Annotation | Most Americans under age 65 now obtain their healthcare through some form of "managed care", i.e. a health plan. More than 6 million older Americans also participate in managed care through Medicare. The implications are examined of managed care and Medicare's involvement with it for older Americans. Articles reflect the views of older people, providers, plans and policy-makers. The aim is to shed light on the strengths and limits of managed care for older Medicare beneficiaries, and to separate the myths from reality. (RH). |
