Annotation | This review considered that by and large, people are well-served by Cumbria Social Services: most users and carers are satisfied with the services they receive. The review presents a profile of the county and the social services department (SSD), and its strengths and weaknesses in meeting individuals' needs, by the way in which services and resources are organised and managed. It concludes that while investment has gone into providing sound quality services, the commissioning role is not well developed. There has not been the same attention paid to making sure that services are at the right level or in the right place to best meet people's needs. (RH). |
