AnnotationThis report follows on from previous research into services provided by agencies and organisations in Hull. Although there was a strong case to involve only those of pensionable age, it was agreed to include people aged 55 and over, when many people start to use services in any case. Information was obtained from focus groups, using a standard set of guide questions. Results suggest that physical health is a major factor in people's lives, but affects people in different ways, being dependent on mobility or disability, transport, or not liking to be out in the evening. Responses concerning things which would improve well-being and lifestyles indicate that older people have an awareness of physical limits which they would like to overcome. (RH).
