AnnotationPerth and Kinross Healthcare NHS Trust provides hospital and community services for the total population of over 134,000. There are 26,500 over the age of 65; 10,000 are over 75. This review reports on current community services for older people, and examines future plans for these services. It also gives a progress report since 1996 for hospital services; and site profiles of five community hospitals (St Margaret's Auchterarder, Blairgowrie, Crieff, Aberfeldy, and Irvine Memorial Hospital, Pitlochry) and one day hospital (Meigle Community Day Hospital). Many areas of good practice were found, and a few areas of concern are noted. (RH).
